Join fellow alumni for dinner and drinks 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Bigsby's Folly, a new winery in Denver's hottest neighborhood, the River North Art District. You'll also enjoy games on the courtyard patio and a fire pit at this beautifully restored building, which dates back to 1886.
Your ticket includes an artisanal, locally sourced dinner buffet and a three-hour hosted bar with select Bigsby's Folly wine, imported beer and domestic beer. Savor wines from Napa-based Brian Graham, who trained in Bordeaux, France, and Denver-based Chris Nelson, a chemist-turned-winemaker who specializes in New World styles of wine production.
For dinner, you'll be served the restaurant's signature sun-dried tomato, artichoke and spinach dip with melted Swiss cheese; an antipasto platter with assorted cured meats, artisan cheese and house-pickled and roasted vegetables; grilled chicken skewers dipped in a sweet and savory jalapeno and pineapple soy marmalade; Colorado sliders with applewood-smoked bacon and Muenster cheese; assorted flatbreads; and doughnut sticks baked in a cinnamon sugar blend with a dark chocolate dipping sauce.
$30 for dues-paying NIU alumni members
