Offering a helping hand

It's always wonderful to see Huskies working to make the world a better place. This past spring Jim Grabek, '68 Marketing, took volunteering to another level as he headed to the Republic of Georgia to work with new entrepreneurs and help them market their businesses.

Grabek's work was part of the United States Agency for International Development's Farmer-to-Farmer program that promotes sustainable economic growth, food security, and agricultural development worldwide.

During his time in Georgia Grabek helped develop a marketing strategy that would help bring farm machinery to the nation's poor farmers who would otherwise have no access to modern farming techniques.

It really is a great example of how Huskies are helping make not only northern Illinois, but the entire world, a better place.
